Best DIY Hair Masks for Damaged Hair

After 19 years of natural strong black hair, I decided – at my Bachelor Degree – to go for a 360 degrees hair change. Moreover, I wanted to color my hair into a true red. Of course, it doesn’t happen right away. But, I have to highlight that from the time I decided to do it, I’ve started to have damaged hair.

Of course, I went through different shades of red until to have the most desired shade. If you do not know, red is not an easy color. It has bleach in it. Not to mention how difficult is to go from a black hair color into a red one. In general, the red color is my favorite of all. It might be a very decisive and passionate color but you have to follow a nice damaged hair treatment in order to avoid destroying your hair.

However, if you want to color your hair into a red shade, it doesn’t mean that you are having damaged hair. All you have to do is to treat them with hair masks from the begging, in order to avoid the damage. I am addicted to making DIY hair masks in order to grow faster my hair and repair my damaged hair. Note that, now I don’t have any hair loss and my locks are up to my waist. I just want them to be slightly thicker, and they’ll be.

Hot Oil Treatment for Damaged Hair

This kind of treatment can treat superb the dry and damaged hair. Just warm a little bit (not enough hot) the oil that you love. I used to warm olive oil or coconut oil. Both are ideal for dry hair but you can use whichever you have.

However, apply – first – a bit of warm oil at you roots with a gentle massage. After that, apply the rest of the oil to the rest of your locks. Leave it as long as you can, from 30 minutes to overnight.

Tips:
1. The oil must be warm but not enough hot to burn yourself!
2. Start by warming 2 tablespoons of oil, if you need warmer another 1 tablespoon (or as much as needed)
3. Wash your hair 3-5 with a shampoo and warm water in order to get rid completely of the oil that you have applied.

Banana For Damaged Hair

Banana and Honey

Add two medium bananas into a blender for a minute. Add 1 tablespoon of organic honey and blend them for 10 seconds more or until they will be well combined. As always, apply them from your roots to the end of your strands. Not to mention that the mixture must stay at least 30 – 60 minutes onto your hair. Wash as normal.

If you have extremely long hair, consider adding more bananas or even adding some liquid (1 tablespoon of your preferred oil).

Brittles? Here is how to repair your damaged hair: milk, avocado oil and honey

However, we love simplicity everywhere. Milk, honey, and avocado oil, nothing more nothing less. Warm a little bit ½ cup of milk with 1-2 tablespoons of avocado oil. At the end add 1 tablespoon of organic honey. Stir all the ingredients well, and apply them from your roots to the end of your strands when the mixture still warm.

Coconut Oil Overnight Treatment For Damaged Hair

Overnight Damaged Hair Treatment with Coconut oil

I am in love with coconut oil. I have always on my counter. However, if you want to follow an overnight treatment, I suggest you trying coconut oil. Start by applying little by little oil on your roots with gentle massage moves, just before bed. At the end apply to rest of your locks. Wash on the next morning and you are going to be amazed at how much silky your hair will be.

Tip:
Wash your hair 3-5 with a shampoo and warm water in order to get rid of all the oil that you have applied.

You can mix 1 teaspoon of each of those oils either cold or warm (add more if needed). If you want to see faster results, try to warm them a bit. As I mentioned above, you have to start work by applying the mixture from your roots (and scalp) to the end of your locks.

Prefer to leave the 4 oils on your hair and scalp for 30 minutes minimum to 3 hours.

Do not forget to shampoo them 3-5 times with warm water in order to remove all the oils from your strands.
