DIY Natural Lifting & Firming Eye Cream

I am excited today to share with you a recipe that I’ve made and I am quite surprised with the results*1,2. I am not going to talk about a sushi or pasta recipe that I’ve made but for an Eye Cream! I might love buying and testing beauty products from the market but I also believe in the natural and DIY beauty. I am literally obsessed with DIY because I like the feeling that those projects giving me when I get them right, besides our grandmas didn’t have chemical creams, just natural products and they seem that they managed them, for their beauty, pretty well!

Have in mind that is better to applying any cream a little before your skin needs it in order to prevent the worst, otherwise, you will need a lot of time to see dramatic results.

You don’t need to spend a large amount to have a quite nice eye cream. But before telling you the recipe, we need to talk about the benefits of each ingredient.

NeoDefendTM is an alternative traditional preservative. NeoDefend’s potentiators help to manage product spoilage by utilizing less aggressive “Hurdle Technology”. NeoDefend’s ingredients are accepted by ECOCERT as preservatives in certified organic cosmetics (no animal testing). This product is suitable for all skin types. By itself, it improves skin moisture content, its broad compatibility with cosmetic ingredients and is a non-sensitizing and non-irritating product.

You need

1 tablespoon Emulsifying Wax
1/8 teaspoon NeoDefend
1/4 cup Organic Green Tea
1 tablespoon Rosehip Oil
1 tablespoon Sweet Almond Oil
2 drops Frankincense Oil
2 drops Carrot Oil
3 drops Lavender Oil

Make a ben-Marie (place two medium-sized pyrex pans in two larger saucepans that are filled – up to the half with water) and turn to medium heat. In the one pyrex pan add wax, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil, and emulsifying wax. In the other pyrex pan add green tea and NeoDefend. Stir gently both mixtures until the emulsifying wax will be completely melted. Be sure that both mixtures have the same temperature (with a thermometer) and place both of them in a low power blender. Blend it every 5 minutes for app. 30-60 seconds until both mixtures are no longer separate from each other (this took me app. 40 minutes). Add the carrot, lavender and frankincense oil and blend for another 40 seconds and place your eye cream in a jar. Store in a dark cool place.
